Update at the home front:

I finally found a job yay :D Well I am a temp, but after about 3 weeks they will let me know if they want to keep me on. I started as a temp to get the store ready and then they extended it, so hopefully they will again. I am pretty excited and it is really good to be able to get out of the apartment and make some friends :D

It was a lot of hard work getting the store ready to open. We worked 11hr days for a whole week. I know it is still going to be hard work, but now that its not 11hr days everyday I am pretty excited.

Shelly is still Shelly, although she is starting to be a little stubborn at time so I call her my teen :) and Jason is Jason :D he surprised me last week by cleaning pretty much the whole apartment while I was at work. I pretty much worked and slept between church so the place got a little messy. I told him he messed up because now I know he knows how to clean the place without me telling him. I did spend yesterday my first off day after the week of work, cleaning the poor place really needed it, but now it looks really good. I was never really much of a neat freak until I moved out of my parents place. I guess I wouldnt go as far to say freak, but I really do like having our place nice and neat and I dont mind doing the scrubbing :D

Well that is about it for now. Hopefully I will have a new update at the end of the month saying I get to keep the job :D I try to be really positive though when it comes to work. I started job hunting in December when no one was hiring so to finally have a job (temporary or not) it is still a job and better to work for a month in a half then not work at all.

Have a great one everybody :D

It has been a while...

..since I have posted and a lot has happened. Well not a supper lot.

Jason is all healed up with only some slight problems that may heal on there own, but are not big enough to cause any trouble in his day to day. I also think he is pretty proud of the scars around his eye. I guess they make him look tough.

We had some snow, and Shelly...doesnt really like it. Which is sad because I love the snow, but I guess she can stay nice and cozy inside when I go walking in the snow. We really haven't had as much as I expected considering last year, but I guess winter isnt over yet.

We had a trip to Alabama, it was nice to get to see a lot of my friends and family even if it was for a short weekend.

I am still looking for a job. Thus far no one seems to be hiring... I applied for a base job, but it is not till the summer and it is still under review.

So that is pretty much it for now. See not a whole lot.

Funny moment of the day.

Okay so yesterday I had a flat and my dad posted the picture I sent him on the phone of the spare I put on.

Dad: I taught her well! Britt had a flat and put on the donut by herself!
Me: Nice try, but mom taught me how to change a tire. Thanks though for the help when I called forgetting some of the finer points. Love Ya!
Dad: Well I taught you to listen to your mom so there :P

gotta love him :D

Things

So I am not much of a journaler (think I might have made up that word) so I am going to try and post more and make this more of my journal. Just a way to work the thoughts in my head through words.

I really thought by now I would have a job and know more then about 5 people. I know some more then that, but not really "know" no one is hiring and on base there is an opening, but I need to scan in a document to upload to apply and since we don't have a scanner I am not sure how soon that will get done. I think they hire on base pretty often so if I miss out on this one, hopefully there will be another one around the corner.

Adjusting to married life came pretty naturally I believe. Of course we don't always agree, but we tend to work things out quickly. Adjusting to military life is a bit harder. The speed limit on base is really slow, you cant talk on your phone while driving (which if I get lost on base and need to call Jason it is really annoying) I just worry that something is going to happen and I will get in trouble. Not like I am a trouble maker or have had any trouble with the law or anything it just feels like you are under a microscope on base. I am sure it is all in my head and will fade with time. I had to go on base a lot recently driving Jason around while he healed from his minor accident. So that helped too. I am less stressed having him on base with me, rather then wondering around on my own.

Well that is enough rambling from me today.

I need to work out and clean. I am really proud that so far I am sticking to this mon-fri work out I found and drinking lemon water which apparently is good for your skin, teeth and weight. I can see the teeth improvement already, but I am still waiting on the rest.

Ok one last ramble. I am really starting to enjoy this cooking thing. :D I never really had too cook because my mom enjoyed cooking and even my brother enjoyed cooking and would cook when she wasnt. So when we first got married we were living on chili, taco soup and fried chicken because that was all I really knew how to cook. Well with the help of some cookbooks I got when I got married and some recipes I found on pinterest I am starting to cook a more variety of foods and actually pulled off sesame chicken last night :D

This time I am really done, hope everyone has a wonderful week :D

Very Blessed and Very Thankfull

So today I get a call a little after 9 from my husband telling me he was on his way to the ER. At work today while washing an aircraft his mask got ripped off and the pressure of the water damaged his eye.

The funny thing is, Jason was more worried about me driving to the hospital upset to meet him then he was about himself.

Luckily the doctor believes the damage is not serious and will heal up normal. The bad news is it takes about a week to heal and it is very painful. So I have Jason drugged up in bed.

I am really thankful for his work place, the military had the person who drove him there stay with us and when he had to leave they sent a replacement until Jason was sent home. I try to be optamistic, but it was very nice just having someone there in case I needed help putting him in the car or something.

He is in a lot of pain and the pain meds only help so much, so prayers are appreaciated. I am really thankful for everyone who knew about the accident that has called and checked in on him.

To end on a lighter note, funny momment of the day. The light hurts Jason really bad right now and our blinds only block so much light. I didnt have any push pins to hang up a sheet with so I duct taped it up. Well that didn't hold. While I was trying to staple it back up (which didnt work at all) Jason woke up and told me to get some foil out of the kitchen and black out the windows so that is what I did. I guess it is not that funny, but it made me chuckle.

And here is my helpful hint of the day. When someone is on medicine especially some pretty strong ones it is a good idea to keep a notebook to write down what time you give medicines. My day has been a hodgpodge of fixing this, giving that, doing this and texting/calling a lot of people for updates so it is hard to remember times. With my notebook I can make sure that I am not giving him to many pain meds and that he is getting his eye drops when he is suppose to.

Thanks everyone for all your thoughts and prayers.

Love, The Whites'

Home is where the heart is and my heart is where you are.

Well growing up I never really said to myself "Hey I want to move to Arkansas!" But its not half bad. Sure I miss the south and Alabama, but I am getting adjusted. I am finally starting to get to know people outside of our apartment complex and made it on base by myself :D now I just need to find a job and that is a work in progress. Hopefully I will hear something soon, because it would be nice to know some more people and the extra cash wouldnt hurt either. Anyways here are some picture of our little place.

These pics were taken at the end of my first week here so things have changed a bit, like we hae a coffee table now and I have a few more picture frames and candles on the buffet thing.

And last but not least we have a little puppy now :D

Happily Ever After

So it has only been three weeks since I have gotten hitched, but all I can say is wow!

Life right now is great. It is so good not to be missing Jason all the time. I love being here when he gets home from work. We cook together, play video games and watch movies. People say you have to adjust to living with someone, and I fully expected that, but so far there hasn't been any adjusting. There might be some that were done without realizing it, but living with Jason feels like this is how life is suppose to be.

So life is pretty sweet so far and I look forward to the times ahead that Jason and I will grow and experience together :)
