Not Enough Time in the Day

How many times a day do you say “So much to do, so little time.”? If you are like me you say this a lot. I am a college kid who works part time and is trying to have a life. I have so much I want to do but so little time to do it. I want to work out, play video games, talk to friends, watch movies, read, write, study….the list goes on and on.

So what do you do? Right now I am going to make a list of everything I want to do a day. You can make it as vague as you want or more detailed. You might want to list that you want to do an hour of this or an hour of that or you might want to say oh I just want to get this, this and this done.

We have 24 hours in a day. I am going to subtract 8 for work and about 6 for sleep because I rarely sleep 8 hours a night. So now I am left with 10 hours for my life. With that time

I am going to devote at least an hour to God every day (sometimes I have a hard time stepping away when I get going on a good study)

I am going to take an hour for working out (health is important to me)

I am going to give an hour to my school work (I should probably give more and on some days I will when I am trying to get assignments done and test coming up)

I am going to give an hour to my writing (it is a hobby of mine that I really love to do especially when I am stressed)

I am going to give an hour to housework

With my remaining five hours I will use as I best see fit. I will add time in the schedule in areas that need it. I can use this time to hang out with my family and friends or to take a nap =D

I know life gets crazy and we can not always set up a time frame for doing everything we want to do or need to do. I wish this is something I would have learned a long time ago. I make sure that the important things come first (ok so maybe house work should come before my hobby but I will work on that) it is easy to get caught up with TV or even our own hobbies and forget what is important.

So the next time you catch yourself thinking or saying that there is so much to do and so little time. Think about what you are doing with the time that you are given.

It is like The Script says in their song Live Like Were Dieing

We only got
86 400 seconds in a day to
turn it all around or throw it all away
we gotta tell 'em that we love 'em
while we got the chance to say
gotta live like we're dying
live like we're dying

I do not want to be just the girl behind the camera anymore so please enjoy these random pictures of me and my friends.

A New Direction

I am still kind of new to this whole Blog World but I am really excited to share my views on things and hopefully to get an idea on other people’s views. I really want the people reading this blog to also get an idea of who I am. So first of all I would like to tell a little bit more about myself and secondly I want to give you an idea of the posts to come.

My name is Brittni and I come from a wonderful family. My mother is one of my best friends. She always knew that she needed to be a mom first and that is what she has always done, she loves me and protects me (even though I might not have always realized at the time that she only punished me as a kid because she loved me.) As a result I grew to love and respect her in a way that I don’t think many kids do. I am truly blessed to have her for a mom. My father is a great man. He is a laid back country guy but he has always been there for me no matter what I needed, a ride, someone to listen or someone to drive across town to look at my car because it was making a sound and it turned out to be a twig stuck up under the car. I only have one brother and although we sometimes fight we still love each other. I am really proud of my brother, he works really hard going to school to get an education while he works two full time jobs and is married. His life is busy but he is there for his family when we really need him.
I have great friends. Most people have a handful of good friends and maybe one or two best friends. I have three Jenny, Michael and Chelsea. These friends are always been there and have helped me in life more then they probably even realize. We always have a blast no mater what we are doing cards, movies or just walking around Barnes and Noble seeing who can find the weirdest book.
Life gets pretty crazy sometimes. I am a college student who took forever deciding a major. Now I have a goal and a long way and a lot of work to get there. I am also a substitute teacher and let me just say for anyone who has never done this before, it is not as easy as you might think. However I do enjoy it most days.
I am the kind of girl, who plays in the rain, sings along with the radio even when I don’t know all the words and thinks playing cards and board games with friends is better then a wild party any day. I am also the girl who wonders how people can view abortion as okay or how people can complain about what is going on in the world when they are doing nothing to change it?
Still don’t know who I am? I thought about copying some of the stuff from my first blog post but I guess if you are interested you can go read it some other time. Though, I think the best way to figure out who I am is to stick around and read the up coming blogs or email me.
Upcoming blogs will be about things I feel are important. I want to share what I know from what I have learned and have experienced. They say you can learn from your mistakes, but I believe you can learn from other people’s mistakes as well. Yes you will make mistakes too but maybe something I did in the past might help you out in the future. Maybe you are a teen who doesn’t understand something. I was a teen not long ago maybe I can help you out. Maybe you’re an adult who does not understand teens. I am a young adult I don’t understand most adults, if you help me out I will help you out. Haha just kidding. The thing is this blog is not just myself trying to help others….I also need help. I want to understand how and why views differ so much whether it is a parent and child, democrat and republican or a boy and a girl.

Here is a small list of some of the things I am going to blog about let me know what you think or suggest some topics of your own.

- music and movies : are they appropriate (as in the immodesty and language in them)?
- cussing : why do people see the need for it and how it offends people
- parents : its a hard job but being a kid is hard too
- young people in love : mistakes I have made and how young people seem to think they are in love but do they really know what love is?
- not enough time in the day : but what am I doing with the time I am given

Give Me Life or Give Me Death

This is a post I did on facebook a while back when a girl I knew had some questions on abortion. She was not pregnant but she was talking to some friends who were pro-choice and she did not know what to say to them. Any feedback is more then welcome and I tried to reach this through a biblical point and a non-biblical point because I am a Christian but I know that not everyone is so I want to reach everyone with this message. (A special thanks to my friend who let me use her child to make a poster for Pro-Life for my graphic design class and to another friend who helped me decide to make my blogs into more then photography. I am still going to update photos but I also want to make my blog more then that and start talking about things that really matter to me so I hope you enjoy =D)

Give Me Life or Give Me Death

Who gets to decide?

God tells is in Exodus 20:13 that “you shall not murder.”

So, why is it that innocents are being murdered every day? Let's look at some facts. In 2005 (the most recent year for which there is reliable data), approximately 1.21 million abortions took place in the U.S., down from an estimated 1.29 million in 2002, 1.31 million in 2000 and 1.36 million in 1996. From 1973 through 2005 more than 45 million legal abortions have occurred in the U.S. (AGI). (taken from Abort73.com)

Why are these babies being aborted? Most common answers are: I can't afford a child, I don't have time for a child, I have to much going on, I am a single mom, or I am having problems with my husband and a child would only make things worse.

How selfish of a world do we live in when we would rather kill a child then to deal with them!?! Abortion has turned into a quick fix. People don't care if they get pregnant because they can abort the child. When in fact they should be more careful and when they do get pregnant they need to grow up and take responsibility!

There are always alternatives to abortion. If you do not want a child, you can always put the child up for adoption.

For those who think that a fetus is not a living being, look at an ultra sound. You can see the child growing, moving, LIVING!!! If there is not a living being in a pregnant woman's body, she would not have to be so careful when she is pregnant!

So what about women who have been raped? Should they have to birth that child? Yes! It is not the child's fault they are the outcome of rape. Why are they being punished by death for something they did not do!?! Only about 1% of abortions are done on rape victims. When a woman is attacked her body kicks into panic mode and starts to shut down making it very hard to get pregnant during an attack. I know of a lady who is the outcome of rape. Her mother did not want her, but choose to give birth to her and put her up for adoption so that she could live! This woman has a wonderful life and goes around to schools talking about drugs and sex and what they can do to your life.

Should a women who has a medical condition that might kill her if she has the child still give birth? Let me answer that with a question. Who has the right to choose who lives or who dies, the mother or the child? I know that I do not have the right to choose.

Why should I care and waste my time on unborn children? Well if you are a Christian, the Bible tells us in Psalm 82: 3-4 that we should defend the weak. Can you think of anything weaker then an unborn child? Even if you do not really have a religious stand point the reason you should care and take a stand against this horrible crime because they cannot defend themselves! If we do not speak for those without a voice who will?

So next time you think that it is the woman's choice if she has a baby or not. Think again and think about the child that is being killed, that can't fight for itself and will never get the chance to speak up. All because the woman who conceived that child was too selfish to put up with 9 months of discomfort to have a child to put up for adoption.
